IoT & Embedded Systems Developer

Abdulrahman Al-hilat

I build complete systems, from the sensor to the screen. I start with a microcontroller reading the real world, send that data through a network to a backend and database, and finish with a web interface or an AI layer people can use.

The engineering chain

My central story is one continuous path. Every project I build connects to a stage on this spine:

Sensor Biometrics & temp Microcontroller ESP32 & FreeRTOS Communication Wi-Fi & captive DNS Backend Node.js & APIs Database PostgreSQL & storage Web / AI Dashboards & tools

Projects

Real hardware, firmware, and production platforms built end-to-end. Click any project to inspect the full case study:

Hardware + Firmware ESP32 · FreeRTOS · Physical Sensors

ESP32 Patient Vitals & Safety Monitor

A physical hardware prototype combining an ESP32, MAX30102 pulse oximeter, and DS18B20 digital temperature probe. FreeRTOS tasks sample vitals at 100 Hz without dropping OLED refresh frames, triggering local buzzer alarms on threshold breaches even if Wi-Fi disconnects.

Production Web Tool 30,000+ Students Every Semester

iot-bau.tech: Al-Balqa Student Portal & GPA Engine

A live academic portal built for fellow students at Al-Balqa Applied University. Runs a client-side calculation engine implementing BAU's exact repeat-course grade rules and syllabus catalog, sustaining 30,000+ visits during finals week at $0 cloud cost.

Embedded Networking Standalone · Zero Cellular/Internet

ESP32 Offline Captive-Portal Attendance Logger

A portable attendance device for basement lecture halls with zero cellular reception. The ESP32 hosts a local Wi-Fi captive portal, prompts students with an instant check-in form, deduplicates entries by MAC address, and writes directly to a Micro-SD card as a CSV file.

Compound AI System Live on keynox.alhilat.me

Keynox: Multi-Agent Presentation Platform

A web-based presentation tool replacing static slides with interactive content: clickable logic circuits, draggable physics simulations, and animated KaTeX proofs. Powered by a 4-stage agentic pipeline (Analyzer, Storyboard Director, Creative Generator, Motion Director) coordinated by an agent supervisor, streaming at 60 fps to a 1280×720 canvas.

About

I'm a Computer Science / IoT student at Al-Balqa Applied University (Al-Huson University College) working toward a career as an IoT and embedded systems engineer. What I enjoy most is the full chain: wiring sensors, writing firmware, designing the communication layer, building the backend and database, and putting a dashboard or AI feature on top.

I've built medical monitoring hardware, an offline attendance system, an Arabic community platform, and a study platform used by more than 30,000 students every semester. I focus on engineering fundamentals: power efficiency, non-blocking firmware tasks, sensor bus reliability, and clean code that other developers can maintain.
